Jorge Rios, 33, was arrested after the body of 45-year-old nanny Caroline Cano was pulled from a lake in Lincoln Park, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced Sunday morning.

He's charged with murder, felony murder, kidnapping, and aggravated sexual assault, they said.

Cano apparently was jogging near her home last Sunday when she was killed. Her body was retrieved from a lake in the park with strangulation marks on her neck around 7:30 a.m., authorities later said.

A Medical Examiner said she'd been strangled and drowned.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited her office's Homicide Unit for the investigation and arrest, as well as the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with the investigation.

Rios was being held Sunday at the Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny.
